Muscle burns more calories when your just resting than fat, so in order to lose the flab you need to build muscle (strength training) as well as some cardio. I suggest you go for a light jog for about 30 minutes a few times a week and also do some strength exercises on the alternate days. I would also suggest to eat around 1600 calories a day since that is enough to have a deficit, but not low enough for your body to eat your muscle. Good luck!
